Philippines requires second COVID test for travelers 5 days post-arrival

The Philippines has tightened testing protocols for travelers entering the country, requiring a second COVID-19 test five days after arrival.

This new protocol applies specifically to passengers from countries where new variants of the virus have been detected.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that this measure aims to ensure proper detection and quarantine enforcement.

The recommendation follows cases where close contacts initially tested negative but later turned positive for the UK variant, highlighting the need for additional testing.
