DOH urges NCR moviegoers to follow health protocols as cinemas reopen

The DOH urged moviegoers in the National Capital Region (NCR) to follow health protocols as NCR transitions to Alert Level 3 on October 16.

Under Alert Level 3, cinemas can operate at 30% indoor capacity for fully vaccinated individuals and 50% outdoor capacity for two weeks starting October 16.

The Presidential palace defended reopening movie houses to support film workers, despite concerns raised by former pandemic task force adviser Anthony C. Leachon about potential risks.

DOH Secretary Francisco Duque said they would monitor the situation closely for any unusual increase in cases following the limited resumption of cinema operations.
