DoH to stop daily COVID-19 tallies, switch to weekly reports starting March 7

The Department of Health (DoH) announced on Tuesday that it would stop reporting daily coronavirus cases starting March 7.

Instead, weekly bulletins focusing on severe and critical cases, ICU utilization, deaths, healthcare capacity, vaccination rates, and weekly trends will be issued every Monday at 4 p.m.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that the national COVID-19 tracker would still show daily new cases but would eventually display weekly case additions.

The shift to a weekly reporting system aligns with the transition to Alert Level 1 in Metro Manila and most of the country.
