DOH to highlight new, active cases starting July 10

Starting July 10, the Department of Health (DOH) will change its reporting method for COVID-19 cases.

The DOH will no longer report 'fresh' and 'late' cases, focusing instead on additional new cases and active cases.

Active cases refer to individuals who tested positive and are currently in hospitals, quarantine facilities, or under self-quarantine at home.

DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire explained that this change aims to provide clearer information about the current status of infections.
