Philippines ICU beds at high-risk occupancy

The utilization rate of ICU beds for COVID-19 patients remains at 'high risk' with around 75% occupied nationwide and 77% in Metro Manila as of Thursday.

Ward beds are under the moderate category nationally with 69% occupancy, but reach high-risk status in NCR with 71% usage.

Mechanical ventilators show a national utilization rate of 54%, increasing to 58% in NCR.

Data from earlier this week showed ICU bed occupancy at 72% nationwide and 73% in Metro Manila, while ward beds were moderately utilized nationally but high-risk in NCR.

The government acknowledged the 'high risk' status of healthcare facilities on Monday, noting there is still some capacity available.

On Monday, the Philippines reported an all-time high of 18,332 new COVID-19 cases.
