DOH: PH records 7,648 new COVID-19 cases, death toll reaches 65,094

The Philippines recorded 7,648 new COVID-19 cases from December 12 to December 18, with the daily case average decreasing by nine percent compared to the previous week.

There were 186 additional verified deaths reported, dating back as far as July 2020, bringing the total death toll to 65,094.

The DOH also noted that only seven new cases (0.09%) required severe or critical care, and hospital bed utilization for COVID-19 patients in non-ICU and ICU wards decreased slightly from the previous week.
