DoH, OCTA warn of 4,000 daily COVID cases in Metro Manila

The Department of Health (DoH) and OCTA Research team expect a surge in COVID-19 cases during and after the holiday season.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire warned that without aggressive interventions, Metro Manila could see up to 4,000 new daily cases by January, potentially overwhelming healthcare facilities.

Mathematics professor Guido David from UP's OCTA Research team noted this projection is at the higher end of their estimates and emphasized the need for strict adherence to health protocols.
