OCTA: Metro unlikely to hit COVID alert level 2 threshold

Daily COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila are unlikely to reach levels requiring a higher alert level this month.

OCTA Research fellow Fredegusto P. David projects that daily infections could peak at around 500 by end-June, well below the 6,000 threshold for Alert Level 2.

The positivity rate in Metro Manila is currently at 3.3%, with a reproduction number of 1.56, indicating a slow increase but not yet significant enough to warrant stricter measures.
