DOH extends NVD for seniors until March 18

The Department of Health in Western Visayas is extending the National Vaccination Day 4 until March 18 to target more senior citizens for coronavirus vaccinations.

Senior health program officer John Richard Lapascua emphasized that seniors are prioritized due to their significant role in communities and their vulnerability to severe or critical infections.

From March 10 to 15, only 7.46% of the targeted senior citizens received their first doses across Western Visayas provinces.

In Antique, only 64 out of 4,620 seniors were vaccinated during the National Vaccination Days Part 4 due to hesitancy and misinformation about vaccine side effects.
