DOH, DILG remind LGUs to enforce health protocols in evacuation centers

The DOH reminded Typhoon Odette evacuees on Monday to follow minimum public health standards amid the Omicron threat.

DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire advised evacuees to wear masks properly, maintain physical distancing, and practice good hygiene.

Vergeire also called for LGUs to appoint safety officers in evacuation centers and provide separate areas for vulnerable populations.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año reminded local government units on Sunday to strictly enforce health protocols in all evacuation centers.

Año said the DILG is coordinating with the DOH to monitor protocol implementation and ensure regular replacement of sanitary accessories used by evacuees.
