DOH: Caraga active cases hit 117, full vaccination rate at 86%

Active coronavirus disease cases in Caraga Region jumped to 117 after recording 102 new infections last week.

The new cases raised the total number of cases in the region to 59,225 since March 2020; recoveries increased by 66 to a total of 56,890 while deaths rose to 2,218 with three new fatalities recorded last week.

Despite the slight increase in infections, DOH-13 emphasized that vaccination remains an effective way to protect residents from the virus alongside adherence to minimum health protocols; as of July 21, 1,673,857 residents are fully vaccinated and 235,392 have received booster shots.

Caraga's full vaccination rate reached 86 percent by July 21, up from 73.06 percent on July 10; during the same week, there were 68 new infections and 21 recoveries.
