DOH: Cannot compare PH pandemic response with other nations

The Philippines was again ranked as the 'worst place to be' during the pandemic by Bloomberg's latest report.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire and government officials criticized the ranking, stating that each country has a different context in battling the virus and the report is biased towards western countries.

Vergeire emphasized that comparing the Philippines with high-income countries like the US is unfair due to differences in health systems and economic conditions.

Officials also pointed out that only 53 countries were included in the ranking, while there are over 200 countries globally.
