DOH: Active COVID cases hit 14K, highest since April

Philippines' active COVID-19 cases increased to 14,218 on Monday, the highest since April.

DOH reported 1,660 new infections, bringing total cases to 3,720,054 with recoveries at 3,645,196 and deaths at 60,640.

Metro Manila recorded the most cases in the last two weeks with 7,920, followed by Calabarzon (Region IV-A) with 3,573, Western Visayas (Region VI) with 1,511, Central Luzon (Region III) with 1,435, and Central Visayas (Region VII) with 711.

DOH noted that while the bed occupancy rate of 21% remains low, it has increased from previous weeks.

From July 4-10, Philippines recorded a total of 10,271 new cases, around 39% higher than the week before with daily average at 1,467 and no recent deaths reported.
