DOH: 29 of 119 Delta variant cases unvaccinated

As of Wednesday, 29 out of the 119 Delta variant cases detected in the Philippines were unvaccinated against COVID-19.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that among the confirmed cases, four individuals who received both doses of a coronavirus vaccine experienced mild or asymptomatic symptoms when infected with the Delta variant.

Vergeire added that two out of three fatalities from the Delta variant were unvaccinated, while the vaccination status of one fatality is still under verification.

The DOH reported 55 new Delta cases on Sunday, including 37 local cases and 17 returning overseas Filipinos.
