DOH: 3,939 COVID-19 cases among 12-17 year-olds

The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Friday that there were 3,939 COVID-19 cases among individuals aged 12 to 17 from September 1 to November 3.

No severe infections or deaths were recorded in this age group.

DOH officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that these reported infections should not hinder the full implementation of face-to-face classes.

The DOH later clarified that the cases are for individuals aged 12 to 17, and not specifically students, as they await official reports on school-related infections.
