DOH: 1,347 new COVID-19 cases, active tally drops

The DOH reported 1,347 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the country's total to 3,957,112.

Active infections dropped to 26,792 from 28,111 on Monday.

NCR had the most recent two-week cases with 13,559, followed by Calabarzon (5,616), Central Luzon (2,836), Davao Region (1,360), and Soccsksargen (747).

The recovery tally increased to 3,867,242 with 2,637 new recoveries.

The death toll rose to 63,078 with 36 new fatalities.

As of Sunday, October 2, at least 6,969 beds were occupied and 21,675 were vacant, resulting in a bed occupancy rate of 24.3%.

The previous day's report showed 1,967 new cases, bringing the total active infections to 28,111.

From September 26 to October 2, the DOH recorded an average of 2,288 daily new cases, a 10% decrease from the week before.

The report also noted that four or 0.03 percent of the new cases were severe or critical, and an additional 228 deaths were added to the country’s death toll.
