De La Salle secures PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup Finals spot

De La Salle University's EcoOil-backed Green Archers secured their spot in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup Finals with a decisive 105-70 victory over St. Clare College on Tuesday at Ynares Sports Arena, advancing to their third consecutive finals appearance.

Henry Agunanne led De La Salle with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Matthew Rubico contributed 14 points and eight rebounds; the team's bench also played a crucial role in the victory, scoring 59 of the team's total points.

The Green Archers dominated St. Clare College early on, leading by as much as 35 points, with their opponents committing 21 turnovers which De La Salle capitalized on to extend their lead.

De La Salle University is now preparing for both the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup and the UAAP men's basketball championship defense while also looking ahead to representing the country in the World University Basketball Series (WUBS) in Tokyo, Japan, from August 10-12.

The team will continue to compete in various leagues including the FilOil EcoOil Preseason Cup before focusing on their goal of winning a second consecutive UAAP title.
