DFA assures OFW support during airport closure

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) assured continued support for overseas Filipinos amid the closure of all Philippine international airports from May 3 to 10.

As of May 3, approximately 20,000 OFWs are in mandatory quarantine in Metro Manila.

To date, the DFA has facilitated the repatriation of 24,422 distressed Filipinos, including 16,936 seafarers and 7,486 land-based workers.

The DFA assured that repatriation efforts will resume once airport operations are reinstated and advised affected individuals to contact their nearest Philippine Embassy or Consulate for assistance.
