DepEd: Only Feb events postponed, Palarong Pambansa not affected

The Department of Education (DepEd) clarified on Tuesday that only events scheduled for February would be postponed due to the 2019 novel coronavirus threat.

Palarong Pambansa, set to take place from May 1-9 in Marikina City, is not included in the postponement list.

Initially, Education Secretary Leonor Briones mentioned during a Senate inquiry that Palaro and other regional sports events would be postponed, but DepEd later corrected this statement on social media.
