Philippines records highest heat index at 54°C

PAGASA's synoptic station in Ambulong, Tanauan City recorded the highest heat index on Tuesday at 54°C.

On Monday, Dagupan City had the highest heat index at 49°C, followed by Ambulong, Butuan City, and Sangley Point in Cavite City with 46°C each; Science City of Muñoz recorded 45°C.

Sunday's highest heat index was also in Dagupan City at 49°C, followed by Legazpi City, Science City of Muñoz, and Sangley Point with 46°C; Aparri and Davao City had 44°C.

PAGASA warns that a heat index between 41°C to 54°C can lead to heat cramps, exhaustion, and potentially heat stroke during continuous physical activity.
