PAGASA: Tanauan records day's highest heat index at 50°C

PAGASA recorded a heat index of 50°C in Tanauan City on Friday, June 5, which was the highest for the day.

This follows a record of 52°C in Butuan City on Thursday, June 4, and 48°C in Science City of Muñoz and Sangley Point in Cavite City on Wednesday, June 3.

The heat index measures human discomfort by factoring in both temperature and humidity, with PAGASA warning of possible heat cramps and exhaustion leading to heat stroke during continued physical activity.
