DA rolls out PHP1.1-B fuel subsidy for corn farmers, fishermen

DA Secretary William Dar announced PHP1.1 billion in fuel subsidies for corn farmers and fishermen to mitigate rising oil prices.

The program, which includes a PHP600 million additional allocation from President Duterte, will start on March 17 with the distribution of PHP3,000 cash to three corn farmers in Tacloban.

Qualified recipients can use discount cards at accredited fuel stations for a 30% discount on diesel or gasoline, and about 160,000 farmers and fisherfolk will benefit from this initiative.
