DA gives PHP3K fuel subsidy to 3.8K Caraga corn farmers, fisherfolk

The Department of Agriculture is providing a PHP3,000 fuel subsidy to 3,802 corn farmers and fisherfolk in Caraga Region to mitigate the impact of rising oil prices.

Of these beneficiaries, approximately 2,186 are fishermen while 1,616 are corn farmers.

DA-13 is finalizing the list of names for the subsidy program, which excludes rice, vegetable, and high-value crops farmers.

The subsidy aims to cover fuel needs for farming equipment and machinery as well as fishing activities in affected areas.
