Valdez leads Creamline to AVC win, eyes intl success

Alyssa Valdez and the Creamline Cool Smashers are preparing for the AVC Women's Champions League after losing in the PVL All-Filipino Conference Finals, with Valdez expressing hope that her team will perform strongly against international teams.

The team secured three import slots for the tournament, signing American Erica Staunton, Kazakh Anastassiya Kolomoyets, and Russian Anastasiya Kudryashova, and is now competing in Pool A alongside PLDT and Petro Gazz.

Creamline began their campaign with a victory over Al Naser Club of Jordan on Sunday, April 20, winning the match 29-27, 25-20, 25-19 at the PhilSports Arena.

Valdez expressed extra motivation to represent both her team and the Philippines, scoring 10 points in their first game, including six crucial points in a tight opening set.

The former national team star shared that playing for the flag again was unexpected but she is excited and happy for the opportunity to bring honor and pride to the country.
