Duque: PH aims to vaccinate 60M for herd immunity

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III clarified on Wednesday that the government aims to vaccinate 60 million Filipinos against COVID-19 to achieve herd immunity.

Duque responded to Philippine Foundation for Vaccination (PFV) director Dr. Lulu Bravo's statement that the current 50 million vaccine supply is insufficient for herd immunity.

Bravo noted on Unang Hirit that if two doses are required, the 50 million vaccines can only cover 25 million Filipinos, which is one-fourth of the country’s population and far from the WHO-recommended 65% to 70%.
