Philippines targets 60M-70M vaccinations in 3-5 years

The Philippines cannot vaccinate 70% of its population against COVID-19 within a year due to lack of resources and insufficient vaccine supply.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that the country's vaccination capacity is limited, with only five million vaccinations annually under normal circumstances.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the government aims to vaccinate 60-70 million Filipinos over a period of three to five years due to supply and service challenges.

Galvez noted that the country's vaccination program usually manages only five million doses per year, making it difficult to achieve simultaneous and massive vaccinations.
