PH records 8,560 new COVID-19 cases, highest active tally since April

The number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines increased by 8,560 on Tuesday, August 10, bringing the total active cases to 79,016, the highest since April 24.

Of these active cases, 94.4% are mild, 1.7% are asymptomatic, and 1% are in critical condition.

The DOH also reported that recoveries climbed by 7,964 to a total of 1,567,920, while the death toll rose by 92 to 29,220.

On Monday, August 9, recoveries reached 1,560,106 with 8,900 new cases and six new fatalities.

Sunday's report showed an additional 8,079 recoveries, bringing the total recovery count to 1,552,278, while active cases rose to 77,516 and deaths increased to 29,122.

The DOH emphasized the importance of following minimum public health standards and getting vaccinated as soon as possible.
