Cops recover COVID-19 patient who escaped quarantine

On Friday morning, authorities recovered a female COVID-19 patient who had escaped from a quarantine facility in Davao City over the weekend.

The patient was found hiding near an abandoned truck in Brgy. Matina and was alone when discovered with only a cloth for cover and her bag.

Police chief Col. Kirby Kraft stated that contact-tracing is now underway to identify individuals who may have had direct contact with the patient since she escaped.

Mayor Sara Duterte previously revealed that the patient initially requested permission to return home but fled when denied, jumping out of a window.
