Davao expects 13 new COVID-19 cases as GCQ begins

Davao City expects to add 13 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total active cases to 67.

Mayor Sara Duterte warned residents to adhere to health protocols as Davao transitions into general community quarantine (GCQ), expressing disappointment over those defying movement restrictions.

The mayor threatened violators with PHP2 million in hospital expenses and free cremation if they die from the virus, while a mass grave has been prepared for potential overflow of dead patients.

Duterte emphasized that lockdowns could be reimposed in areas recording more cases, highlighting the city's current 179 total cases, including 25 deaths and 82 recoveries.
