2M AstraZeneca doses arrive, Pfizer shipment on Monday

Two million AstraZeneca vaccine doses arrived in the Philippines on Saturday and will be used to complete vaccinations for vulnerable groups including health workers, elderly people, and those with comorbidities.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III announced that around 3.8 million additional doses of various brands are expected to arrive within the next few days, including Pfizer vaccines scheduled to arrive on Monday.

The Pfizer doses will be distributed to areas in NCR Plus, Cebu, Davao, and other major cities capable of handling the vaccine's temperature requirements.

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. previously stated that COVAX is expected to deliver two million AstraZeneca and 1.3 million Pfizer doses in May.
