Confirmed Odette death toll rises to 81

The death toll due to Typhoon Odette has risen to 81 confirmed deaths as of Tuesday, with an additional 324 deaths still under validation.

Most of the confirmed deaths are from Western Visayas at 46; Eastern Visayas - 16; Mimaropa - 12; Northern Mindanao - 4; Central Visayas - 2 and Zamboanga Peninsula - 1.

The total reported deaths have climbed to 407, with 75 confirmed and 332 still needing validation. Majority of these are from Region 7 (Central Visayas) with 220 reported deaths followed by Caraga with 71.

There are currently 66 people missing and 1,261 injured.

Almost a month after the typhoon's impact, over 60,000 families remain in evacuation centers.
