Comelec extends LAV deadline to March 17

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has extended the deadline for filing local absentee voting (LAV) forms from March 7 to March 17, 2025.

Eligible individuals include members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, and media practitioners whose duties will prevent them from voting in person on election day.

The verification period for LAV registrants has been moved from April 8 to April 17, 2025, due to numerous requests received by Comelec and observance of Holy Week from April 17 to April 20.

Government personnel must submit their LAV forms to their heads of offices or supervisors by the new deadline, while media personnel should lodge their forms with regional election officials.

Absentee voting is set to take place from April 28 to April 30, 2025.

The Philippines will hold its midterm election on May 12, 2025.
