Comelec extends LAV deadline to March 17

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has extended the deadline for Local Absentee Voting applications for the 2025 midterm polls until March 17, originally set for March 10.

This extension was made due to requests from various government agencies and stakeholders, as well as the observance of Holy Week from April 17 to April 20.

Comelec Resolution No. 11120 was released on Monday to amend previous deadline requirements, moving verification for LAV eligibility from April 8 to April 11.

The transmittal of the list of qualified LAV voters by the Committee on LAV has been rescheduled to April 27 from April 21.

Qualified voters, including members of the media, AFP personnel, and PNP members assigned to election duties, are allowed to vote ahead of May 12 elections under the LAV program.

LAV voting will take place from April 28 to 30, but participants can only cast votes for senators and party-list groups.
