Comelec proclaims Marcy Teodoro winner in Marikina 1st district

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has issued a certificate of finality and entry of judgment, paving the way for former Marikina Mayor Marcelino 'Marcy' Teodoro to be proclaimed as the winner in the city's 1st district congressional race.

Teodoro's victory was solidified after the Comelec en banc ruled on June 25 to lift the suspension of his proclamation following the reinstatement of his certificate of candidacy (COC).

The Supreme Court did not issue a restraining order within five days, allowing the resolution to become final and executory.

Comelec has now given the greenlight for Teodoro's proclamation as the duly-elected congressional representative during the May 2025 polls, with the City Board of Canvassers (CBOC) scheduled to conduct the proclamation.

The Comelec en banc found that petitioners failed to prove material misrepresentation regarding his residency in Barangay San Roque within Marikina's 1st district.
