Comelec delivers 3,500 ballot bundles for BARMM polls

Tomorrow, on April 22, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) will deliver around 3,500 bundles of official printed ballots for the May 12 polls in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Each box delivered contains ballots that match the number of registered voters per precinct, as emphasized by Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia.

Comelec coordinates with law enforcement agencies to track container vans transporting the ballots and provide armed escorts throughout the journey, ensuring security during delivery.

The first batch includes 3,546 precincts across BARMM and its eight municipalities, with deliveries directly to municipal and city treasurers' offices for final testing and sealing by May 1.

Future deliveries will cover other regions such as Region 13 (CARAGA), Region 12 (Soccsksargen), Batanes, and others in the coming days.
