Comelec completes senatorial vote canvassing, Bong Go leads

The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), completed the canvassing of votes for senators and party-list groups in the 2025 midterm polls, setting the stage for the proclamation of the new senators this Saturday afternoon.

Incumbent Senator Christopher 'Bong' Go emerged as the top candidate with 27,121,073 votes, followed by former Senator Bam Aquino with 20,971,899 and Senator Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa in third place with 20,773,946.

The NBOC processed the 175 certificates of canvass (COCs) over three days: 58 on May 13, 101 on May 14, and the remaining 16 on May 15.

Comelec chairman George Garcia noted that while results have been posted, they are still subject to auditing and will be officially proclaimed on Saturday afternoon.

Other candidates who made it into the 'Magic 12' include Erwin Tulfo, Francis Pangilinan, Rodante Marcoleta, Panfilo Lacson, Vicente Sotto III, Pia Cayetano, Camille Villar, Lito Lapid, and Imee Marcos.
