Philippine classes suspended due to Bebinca, monsoon

Classes were suspended in several areas across the Philippines on Friday, September 13, due to inclement weather caused by severe tropical storm Bebinca and the southwest monsoon.

In Negros Occidental, suspensions affected multiple municipalities including Candoni, Binalbagan, Isabela, Cauayan, Hinigaran, Sipalay City, and Camarines Sur.

Iloilo City and Aklan suspended classes from preschool to senior high school levels in both public and private schools.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned that Bebinca might enter the country's area of responsibility later on Friday afternoon or evening.

Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Negros Occidental, and Mindanao are expected to experience rainy weather conditions due to the southwest monsoon, while overcast skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are anticipated in Bicol Region, southern Quezon, Batangas, and rest of Visayas.
