Clarin's late three secures NU's win over UP

Camille Clarin scored a clutch three-pointer with 45.2 seconds left to secure National University's come-from-behind 64-59 victory over the University of the Philippines in the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball tournament on Sunday.

Clarin, who only had three points entering the fourth quarter, contributed 13 crucial points and four three-pointers in the final period, leading NU’s comeback from a four-point deficit to start the frame.

The Lady Bulldogs executed a 16-2 scoring run for a 60-50 lead with 5:41 left before UP responded with a 9-0 surge to narrow the gap to one point with three minutes remaining.

Despite UP's late push, Clarin’s final three-pointer gave NU a decisive 63-59 lead that they held onto for the win, improving their record to 10-0 ahead of their next game against University of Santo Tomas on Wednesday.

With this loss, UP dropped to 3-8 and faces slim chances of making it to the Final Four, needing Ateneo de Manila University to lose while securing their remaining games.
