Cignal beats Capital1 in straight sets, ends two-game skid

Cignal defeated Capital1 in straight sets, 25-12, 25-15, 25-17, in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at PhilSports Arena, ending a two-game skid and improving their record to six wins in nine games.

Coach Shaq Delos Santos praised Ishie Lalongisip and Judith Abil for stepping up after the departure of Ces Molina and Riri Meneses, with both players contributing 13 points each.

Cignal dominated Capital1 in attacks, scoring 44 points on 139 attempts compared to Capital1's 24 points from 158 attempts, securing their victory and moving up to No. 3 in the standings by virtue of points.

Rose Doria-Aquino contributed with 11 points while Gel Cayuna distributed the ball well with 13 excellent sets, helping Cignal dominate the final set using a 5-0 run early on.

Capital1 suffered their fifth consecutive loss and will face Farm Fresh next, while Cignal aims to improve their standing against ZUS Coffee in the following week.
