Chinese names on negative COVID-19 test list frustrate OFWs

Filipino repatriated overseas workers (OFWs) are frustrated after seeing Chinese names on the list of those who have received negative COVID-19 test results, while many Filipinos still await their results.

Some OFWs have been waiting for their test results since early May and some have even waited two months in quarantine facilities.

A group of over 100 OFWs repatriated on April 1 are still awaiting clearance to leave a hotel despite being swabbed on May 15.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has informed them that their results are ready but not yet encoded, causing delays and frustration.
