Chinese national arrested in POGO raid, charged with trafficking

A Chinese national suspected of managing a raided POGO hub in Porac, Pampanga, was arrested during the execution of a search warrant at a Clark leisure park on Thursday.

Police confiscated 14 safety vaults from five villas as part of their operation and are applying for warrants to open them.

Philippine National Police-CIDG chief Leo Francisco stated that the investigation into the Chinese national is ongoing, with charges of human trafficking, physical injury, and Access Devices Regulation Act violations expected to be filed.

Francisco also mentioned that perpetrators have shifted to small-scale operations following crackdowns on illegal POGOs in Porac and Bamban, Tarlac.

Earlier this month, authorities raided a POGO hub in Porac and rescued 158 foreign nationals, uncovering evidence of torture and kidnapping.

In March, over 800 Filipinos and foreigners were rescued from another POGO hub in Bamban for alleged illegal activities including crypto scams and love fraud.
