Senate files resolutions, offers P10M to Carlos Yulo after Olympic golds

Following Carlos Yulo's historic win of two gold medals in gymnastics at the Paris Olympics, at least two resolutions have been filed in the Senate to confer upon him the prestigious 'Senate Medal of Excellence', and he is guaranteed a minimum P10 million from the Philippine government.

Filipino celebrities have taken to social media to offer their congratulations to Yulo, with Vice Ganda, Lea Salonga, Iza Calzado, Jodi Sta. Maria, Bianca Gonzalez, Samantha Bernardo, Agot Isidro, and many others expressing pride and support for the athlete.

Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino and Senator Joel Villanueva separately proposed Senate Resolutions 1106 and 1105 to recognize Yulo's 'outstanding' achievement, while Speaker Ferdinand Romualdez has directed committees to consider enhancing benefits for Olympic medalists.

The city government of Manila is planning a hero's parade for Yulo, and private companies like Megaworld Corporation are offering incentives such as multi-million peso condominium units and cash bonuses.

Yulo expressed gratitude for never giving up despite numerous obstacles and challenges, stating that he will save and invest the rewards while sharing opportunities with aspiring gymnasts.
