Robredo joins flood relief, distributes aid in Naga

Former Vice President Leni Robredo joined relief operations in Naga City on Thursday amid flooding caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

Robredo was seen assisting volunteers in distributing relief packs and water to residents affected by the storm and received praise from celebrities including Gary Valenciano, Karen Davila, Jim Paredes, and Cherry Pie Picache for her efforts.

On Tuesday, Robredo and local authorities had appealed for resources such as trucks and rubber boats to rescue flood victims, with pump boats still urgently needed to reach people stranded on rooftops due to flooding.

Robredo directed donations through Tanging Yaman Foundation for assistance in areas outside Naga City while maintaining donation channels for Naga residents via Kaya Natin! Movement and the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation.

Photos shared by a netizen showed Robredo braving waist-high floods with companions, holding onto a rubber boat containing supplies to distribute among victims.

As of Friday morning, Kristine was located over coastal waters near Bacnotan, La Union, moving west slowly with maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and a forecast to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by afternoon.
