Cebu mayor urges officials to follow vax priority line

Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella called on local officials to adhere to the national vaccine prioritization framework.

Minglanilla Mayor Elanito Peña received the AstraZeneca vaccine along with health workers despite not being in the priority group, citing his involvement in the municipality’s COVID-19 task force.

The Department of Interior and Local Government issued a show cause order to Peña asking him to explain why he should not face sanctions for receiving the vaccine out of turn.
