Labella urges Cebuanos to support vaccine trials

Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella urged Cebuanos to support the upcoming coronavirus vaccine clinical trials in Cebu.

Labella expressed his full support for the trials and encouraged residents to participate as it is an opportunity to help find a solution to the pandemic.

Science and Technology Secretary Fortunato de la Peña announced that six barangays in Metro Manila, one in Calabarzon, and one in Cebu will be selected for the WHO-led solidarity vaccine trials involving around 1,000 volunteers per zone.

The chosen areas are those with high incidences of COVID-19 cases, typically requiring five to ten barangays for a trial.
