Defensor vows to object if motion made to remove Cayetano

On October 14, Anakalusugan Representative Mike Defensor stated he will object if there is a motion to remove Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano from the speakership.

The House rejected Cayetano’s resignation offer on September 30 with 184 votes against it, one in favor, and nine abstentions.

Cayetano offered his resignation during a privilege speech amid legislative priorities, but an agreement was reached to keep the term-sharing pact brokered by President Duterte in 2019.
