Cavite begins mass COVID-19 testing

Cavite province began 'mass testing' for the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, April 14.

Governor Jonvic Remulla said the aim is to stop the spread of the virus while increasing positive case numbers.

The Department of Health has accredited the laboratory of De La Salle State Health Sciences Institute (DLSU-HSI), which will use three PCR machines for testing.

Remulla reminded residents not to go directly to DLSU for testing; samples will be taken from designated areas in local government units.

Initially, suspected cases with symptoms, health workers, public utility vehicle drivers, grocery and market workers, and those in manufacturing industries will be prioritized for testing.
