Capital1 Solar Spikers get top pick in PVL Rookie Draft

Capital1 Solar Spikers secured the top pick in the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft after winning the lottery held at TV5 Media Center in Mandaluyong City on Monday, May 26.

Team co-owner Milka Romero expressed excitement about drafting a franchise player, with National University superstar Bella Belen being the consensus number one pick but still weighing her options due to potential offers abroad.

Galeries Tower claimed the second overall pick, while Farm Fresh defied odds to secure the third pick despite having only a 10 percent chance. Nxled Chameleons, who had the highest probability at 40 percent, ended up with the fourth pick and remain optimistic about this year's draft pool.

Nxled team manager Dzi Gervacio acknowledged that winning the lottery is unpredictable but expressed happiness for teams with better placements in the draft.

The PVL announced its first list of rookie draft hopefuls on Monday, May 26, including Bella Belen, Lyann de Guzman, Chen Tagaod, Alleiah Malaluan, Riza Nogales, AC Miner, Jean Asis, Mycah Go, and others from UAAP and NCAA.

The Draft Combine for teams to assess aspirants will take place on May 30 and 31, followed by the Draft proper on June 8.
