Cagayan de Oro improves to moderate COVID-19 risk

Cagayan de Oro City has improved to moderate risk for COVID-19, with its reproduction number declining to 0.57.

New cases have decreased by 39% to a seven-day average of 57 new cases per day, close to pre-surge levels.

The city's ADAR dropped from 12.7 (high risk) last week to 7.8 per 100,000 this week.

Cagayan de Oro recorded its lowest single-day number of COVID-19 infections in six months on September 22 with only 29 new cases, a significant drop from the 121 cases reported on September 6.

Despite the positive trend, Mayor Oscar Moreno remains cautious due to surges in other areas of northern Mindanao and neighboring regions.
