Brownlee's game-winning triple-double clinches Ginebra 2-0 lead

Barangay Ginebra secured a narrow 104-103 victory against Meralco in their PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals game on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Justin Brownlee's game-winning three-pointer, reminiscent of his historic shot from the 2016 finals, gave Barangay Ginebra a commanding 2-0 lead in the series with an impressive triple-double of 39 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three blocks.

Scottie Thompson contributed 19 points while rookie RJ Abarrientos made key plays throughout the match; Meralco's Allen Durham had a standout performance with 39 points but missed crucial shots in the final moments.

Despite clutch performances from Meralco players Chris Newsome and Cliff Hodge, Barangay Ginebra's defense thwarted their attempts to tie the game.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone praised Brownlee for his clutch play, noting it was one of the import’s best games ever. The series now moves to Game 5 on Monday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium where Ginebra aims to secure a semifinals berth.
